Mine were too small so they must be true to size. I ordered down for EMU's so I did the same for these and they were too small. They were well made and I really wanted to keep them but amazon was out of the size that I needed in the color that I ordered, and they would not substitute the color. I am not sure how durable the sweater part is, it would really irritate me if you kept having to pull the sweater part up. However these were nice looking and well made boots
